its all about tuning i have eclipse and i beat stock v8s all day with just a turbo upgrade i ran a mustang gt when i was stock i beat it untill 4th gear

The eclipse made 397whp on a Mustang dyno on 19-20 psi. The truck did make around 800hp and had run a 10 on this setup, but this truck was built to be even faster after this race. The eclipse later ran an 11.7@117, but it was much faster at the time of this race, the air was much colder. As to the question of awd mpg, the eclipse on this setup was getting over 27mph highway.

Anyone who uses this video to form an opinion on which car is better is completely missing the point of this video. I was sitting in the passenger seat of the eclipse during this race, and could see the turbo and manifold of the truck glowing red from the fender, while at 160mph the eclipse is shaking from the air turbulence of the truck. This video proves how much potential any car can have, and should attest to how stupid it is to judge someones choice of car.

mitsubishi's are tough i mean that was a 4 banger and it kept up with a big ass v8

you'd think an 800 hp truck would pull away from the eclipse a little more huh?? im a little dissapointed. but i still love chevy trucks.

the higher the speed the harder to move through air, eclipse has a good aerodynamic body, way better than the truck so thats an advantage that fills in for the AWD part. Eclipse would slow down as it goes more faster 130+

someone told me and i don't know if its true but they say if you race from a roll that weight doesn't factor in as much as from a stand still. An i'm only going by the fact the title says this truck is an 800hp. An i thought the eclispe would be at a disadvantage from a roll since its AWD and loses alot of HP once it gets over 100MPH and they were well over 100MPH when the stopped each race they were on average 130MPH or more.

aerodynamics, weight. have alot to do with the race also. pretty sure the truck was not 800hp also.

i remember someone saying that if you gave a turbo to a v8 then it would totally kill a inline 4 with a turbo. But i see in this video thats not the case. Not only does the inline turbo 4 banger keeps up with the turbo charged v8 it actually seems faster.

this eclipse is an awesome example of import speed.... with a small engine they take out alot of v8's. .the truck holds it own but the thing with eclises is that you they rely on torque not horsepower...they'll drag your ass out of no where...i myself own an eclipse and we have a car crew of eclipses only!!!! our turbo charged euros dominate the streets..

ive been looking to get a gsx for a while, but ive never owned an AWD car, so how much power and fuel echonomy does it rob from the car, also how strong is the AWD system, since most cars with AWD seem fragile, u can break gear boxes, shafts, burn clutches if u launch hard and stuff. i know there is a difference between AWD and others but can some one compare it to the STI because that car is known as a tough car that can take a beating.

the gsx shouldnt be more than 450awhp with the 50 trim. seems pretty fast vs a 800hp truck. good shit
