WTF? wastegate??? theres no turbocharger.... engine is not connected to exhaust system, this is the reason why sound is so loud...Of course i can be wrong...

what I mean by open waste gate is..the 38mm waste gate flange has no actual waste gate connected to it.. there isn't a down pipe or inter cooler piping running to the throttle body either thanx

On almost all modern turbo diesels, many turbo dodges from the 80s and early 90s. Saab had a cool variable compression engine.

Not true, it is not essential to all turbo cars, For example VNT turbos do not need them because they can control the speed of the turbine by varying the geometry of the blades. Nor is it essential, some very rare applications take all the boost a turbo can put out and some primitive methods don't use a wastegate but instead a restriction in the exhaust that keeps the turbine wheel from spinning to fast

If you take a look it seems like there isn't even a turbo bolted to the exhaust manifold. So it's not connected to the exhaust system at all. That's why it's so loud/odd sounding.

not true a wastegate regualtes the exhaust flow to the turbo hence it controls boost levels, a wastegate is essential for anyturbo car so u dont over boost
